The novel tells the story of Roxanne, a human visitor from the Alpha Centauri star system, who spends two harrowing weeks on Earth. When she shuts down the drive on her spacecraft the most important part of her spacecraft’s navigational system disintegrates.
If Roxanne is going to make the rendezvous with the starship that brought her to our solar system, she must accept the aid of those she has come to live with and ask them to help her build a replacement part for her spacecraft while keeping her identity secret, and she’ll have to use the new technology she’s brought to Earth as part of her mission.
Soon after Roxanne arrives, she meets Richie and Danny, who become rivals for her attention and affections. Can either of them help her complete her mission, or will she remain marooned on Earth forever?
Set in Colorado in 1986, Not Just A Girl is 385 pages long, comprising 87 chapters, divided into three sections, “Contact,” “The Crystal,” and “Synergy”.
